Michael Underwood graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in building construction in 1982. He began his career in Houston, Texas, gaining valuable industry experience in both commercial and residential construction before returning to Daytona Beach in 1983.
There, he worked with a prominent commercial contractor until 1985, when he launched his own construction business—laying the foundation for what is now M. L. Underwood Construction.
